Printing behaviour and recommended settings
ELEGOO Marble PLA prints consistently with low risk of jams thanks to tight diameter tolerance. Suggested starting settings (tweak per printer and geometry): nozzle 190–220 °C, heated bed 40–60 °C (or use blue tape/PEI for better first-layer adhesion), print speed 35–60 mm/s for best surface appearance. For fine veining and visible marble texture, slower printing and controlled cooling yield better results. Use moderate part cooling for detailed ornamental work; reduce cooling slightly for larger solid pieces to improve interlayer bonding.
Surface finish & post-processing
Finished prints show a mottled, stone-like surface that often requires minimal finishing. Light sanding and a thin matte sealer can enhance the marble look and protect fragile texture. If you want a glossier “polished marble” effect, progressively wet-sand and apply a polishing or clear-coat finish. Because the filament mimics stone, deliberate polishing can produce very convincing results for decorative applications.
Material handling & storage
Spools are vacuum-sealed with desiccant to prevent moisture uptake. PLA-based filaments absorb humidity over time; if you notice bubbling, increased stringing, or a rough extrudate, dry the spool (e.g., filament dryer or low-temperature oven at 40–50 °C for several hours) before printing. Store unused spools sealed with desiccant in a dry container or bag.
